1. Introduction

The service “Registration of Potters / Artisans engaged in Pottery (Kumhari) and Clay Work” is administered by the Chhattisgarh Matikala Board for identification, registration, and inclusion of traditional potters and clay artisans under various welfare and support schemes of the Board.

The registration enables eligible artisans to:

• Avail government schemes related to pottery and clay work.
• Eligibility to get free Electric Potter Wheel (e.g., electric wheel support if applicable).
• “Be officially recognized as registered Kumbhkar/Artisan under the Board.
• Participate in exhibitions, training, and marketing support programs.

Under Sewa Setu 2.0, the service shall be digitized and each application shall generate a unique Application Reference Number (ARN) for tracking and monitoring.

2. Eligibility Criteria

1. Applicant must be engaged in pottery (Kumhari) and clay-related work.
2. Applicant must be a native resident of Chhattisgarh.
3. Applicant must have completed minimum 18 years of age (Position as on 1st April of the relevant Financial Year).
4. The registration certificate will be valid for a period of 10 years from the date of issue.
5. It will be mandatory to renew the registration certificate issued to potters/artisans engaged in pottery and clay work after every 10 years.
